Presently, almost all insurances do not cover compounded medications. We offer these medications to improve access for for patients whose insurance doesn’t cover the branded drug. It is always best to speak with your insurance provider to determine eligible benefits.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identifies the practice of compound pharmacy as a vital health alternative for people who need unique medication or require a formula that is not available due to any reason. For instance, many patients need a customized medication without any dye or other inactive ingredient due to allergic reactions. Only licensed and trained pharmacists are permitted to compound a prescription to ensure the safety of patients. Moreover, it is also essential that your compound pharmacy must comply with the rules and regulations of State Boards of Pharmacy. In addition, compounding pharmacies should use supplies and products that are FDA-approved. At Calorie Clinic, we partner exclusively with 503A pharmacies to ensure that our patients are always receiving the safest and most effective medications.

Yes! We use 503A pharmacies that provide generic medications with equivalent effectiveness as the brand name drugs. The effect of the medications is the same as retail pharmacies. Our compounding pharmacies can create the perfect dose for your medical condition, as well as your height, weight, gender, and age.
